Family: Darren's father, Deston, is always sick and in the hospital. Whenever he sees his son, he seldom fails to remind him of the importance of blood. Deston is dying and still wants his son to despise the lesser bloods. Darren doesn't know why; the truth is, Darren is a half-blood, though it is popular belief that he is a Pureblood. His mother, Lena Hornes who has no relation to Muggle Lena Horne, was a Muggleborn. Deston got drunk one night and they had a get together, resulting in Darren. Deston said that Lena left them, but she really died during labor. Darren's father still hates half-bloods since Lena revealed that she cheated several times on her death bed, meaning that Deston might not be Darren's real father.
